Light and Music

I felt your light, I knew your sound,
Holding hands and spinning ’round.
Your twirling dress, and shining smile,
We poured more drinks and danced a while.
The windows down, cruel summer air,
Still water left, shone moonlight glare.

The season changed, now music lost.
Luminous warmth replaced with frost.
Sweet thoughts of your melodic tongue,
When flames went out, no songs were sung.
Cold dark consumed with no escape,
My blinded eyes recall your shape.

A sudden speck, the sign of saints,
This glint of light, a hope so faint.
My lungs cry out, dissolving voice,
Too dark to move, my heart’s rejoice.
The budding spark, a blissful tint.
Cherished tender, yearning for flint.

A nearing voice, I hear my name.
The sound pours out from burning flame.
Acoustic love, my beating heart,
An aural joy, the fear departs.
Familiar ground, my eyes adjust,
Your face appears, through parting dust.

Desire’s scale, a lover’s chord,
Emerging dawn, my light restored.
Angelic noise, your sanguine tone,
My heart is bare, your rightful throne.
I’ll guard your fire and sing our song,
Symphonic love, where it belongs.
